Preserves & Chutneys

  • Strawberry Jam is made with juicy red strawberries with a hint of fresh lemon juice. Perfect for spreading on hot buttered toast. Delicious with scones and cream or add a heaped spoonful to rice pudding.
  • Thick Cut Orange Marmalade is also tasty on hot buttered toast. I glazed a ham with it last weekend it was truly amazing! An explosion of goodness and wholesomeness.
  • Tomato Chutney is made with three different types of tomatoes -beefsteak, roma and cherry tomatoes. I use these varieties as their combined flavour’s are both sweet and savoury, a divine combination of natural sugar and acidity. This chutney is so tasty alongside cheese or meat platter.
  • Beetroot Chutney is my favourite to make. It reminds me so much of my teenage years. I spent three years in Iran and steaming hot, sweet beetroot is a favourite street food and during autumn and winter beetroots are sold on every street corner in wheeled carts(known as a gari).
  • Chilli Jam – hot, hot, hot! Add a dollop to your gravy for a spicy kick! Add a spoonful to homemade chilli con carne or spaghetti bolognese. Brush over roast pork for the last 30 minutes of the cooking time for a sweet spicy glaze.
