Strawberry Jam is made with juicy red strawberries with a hint of fresh lemon juice. Perfect for spreading on hot buttered toast. Delicious with scones and cream or add a heaped spoonful to rice pudding.
Thick Cut Orange Marmalade is also tasty on hot buttered toast. I glazed a ham with it last weekend it was truly amazing! An explosion of goodness and wholesomeness.
Tomato Chutney is made with three different types of tomatoes -beefsteak, roma and cherry tomatoes. I use these varieties as their combined flavour’s are both sweet and savoury, a divine combination of natural sugar and acidity. This chutney is so tasty alongside cheese or meat platter.
Beetroot Chutney is my favourite to make. It reminds me so much of my teenage years. I spent three years in Iran and steaming hot, sweet beetroot is a favourite street food and during autumn and winter beetroots are sold on every street corner in wheeled carts(known as a gari).
Chilli Jam – hot, hot, hot! Add a dollop to your gravy for a spicy kick! Add a spoonful to homemade chilli con carne or spaghetti bolognese. Brush over roast pork for the last 30 minutes of the cooking time for a sweet spicy glaze.
